TikTok Downloader Not Working? Work Through These Checks

When a download fails there is usually one specific reason, and it is nearly always visible from the link. Going through these in order will identify it in under a minute.

1. The video is not public

Private accounts, friends-only posts, age-restricted videos and deleted posts cannot be resolved by any tool, because a signed-out visitor is never served the file. Open the link in a private browsing window: if you cannot watch it there, a downloader cannot fetch it either.

2. Wrong kind of link

• A single video link looks like tiktok.com/@user/video/123456, or a short vm./vt. link.
• A profile link (tiktok.com/@user) points at many videos and cannot resolve to one.
• Search, hashtag, sound and Live URLs are not downloadable.

3. The link has extra characters

Pasting from a chat app often brings a trailing space, a quotation mark, or text like "Check this out". Delete everything except the URL itself. Tracking parameters after a question mark are harmless.

4. Network or timeout

Resolution has a time limit. On a weak mobile connection, or if TikTok is slow to respond, the request can end before it completes. Reload the page and try once more; a second attempt often succeeds immediately.

5. Regional availability

Some videos are restricted to certain countries. If the post is geo-limited away from the servers handling the request, the link will not resolve, and there is no workaround on our side.
